Jan Vertonghen is a major doubt for Belgium's Euro 2016 quarter-final clash with Wales after injuring his ankle in training.

Belgian media reported that the Tottenham defender twisted his ankle at the end of training on Thursday and is unlikely to play any part against Wales in Lille on Friday.

There have even been suggestions the injury is serious enough for the player to miss the first four months of the Premier League season.
