Vicente Del Bosque was satisfied with the winning performance of his Spain side in their opening Euro2016 fixture on Monday.
The reigning Euro champions needed an 87th-minute goal from defender Gerard Pique to defeat the Czech Republic 1-0 in Toulouse but the hard-fought nature of the triumph did not bother Del Bosque who is confident the scoring chances will be finished provided the players continue to play with their customary passing style.
"Winning is obviously important. The first thing is that we got three points and the other is that we had total control of the game," he said.
"Now we have a good passage forward and we want to be as strong as possible. We're obviously more optimistic than if the game had been drawn.
"We created a lot of chances. We hope it's not a problem [finishing them]. We had the game completely under control and that's the important thing.
"It hasn't been too bad for us this style, hey? Everyone wants to score more goals but it hasn't been too bad."
Spain next take on Turkey in Group D in Nice on Friday.
