Essien played an hour and scored the only goal of the game.
"There is no problem, the knee is fine, there is no pain," he reported to Chelsea's website.
"I am moving freely now and every movement is how I used to make it, and it is good.
"I hit the bar in the first half as well and I think we played well as a team. All the young ones did really well in the game. My goal was a very good build up - a great pass from Daniel Sturridge to Josh McEachran who laid it back to me and I was able to take one touch and then hit it."
