International sports broadcaster ESPN has agreed a multi-year deal for exclusive linear and digital rights to the English FA Cup across Spanish-speaking Latin America, the Caribbean and Australia, reports Sports Business.
The deal is effective from 2019 and was struck ahead of the semi-finals of this season's FA Cup, which were held at Wembley Stadium in London at the weekend. ESPN covered both matches live.
FA Cup matches will air live on ESPN linear networks across Latin America and the Caribbean, including ESPN, ESPN 2, ESPN Caribbean, ESPN2 Caribbean and ESPN Play. The latter is ESPN's multiscreen live and on-demand broadband service in the region.
Additional content will be featured across ESPN platforms, including FA Cup highlights and the FA Community Shield, the annual season-opening match between the FA Cup and Premier League title-holders, which is also part of the deal.
