Espanyol thrash Ludogorets on special Europa League night

Espanyol enjoyed a special Europa League night with a 6-0 win over Ludogorets at the RCDE Stadium on Thursday.

Oscar Melendo opened the scoring for the hosts inside the first five minutes before Rafael Forster was sent off for Ludogorets in the 12th minute.

Lluis Lopez doubled Espanyol's lead minutes after before the visitors gifted Espanyol a chance to score their third.

Jacek Goralski gave away a penalty and was handed a second yellow card as a result. Mono Vargas slotted home from 12 yards to make the score 3-0.

Victor Campuzano netted Espanyol's fourth before goals from Adria Pedrosa and Facundo Ferreyra took Espanyol's total to six.

The Catalan side are top of their group and need just a draw in their next game against Ferencvaros to progress to the last 32.
