Espanyol are splashing out big to sign Benfica striker Raul de Tomas.

The centre-forward was only sold by Real Madrid to Benfica this past summer, but is now on his way back to the LaLiga.

Portuguese media sources say Benfica have accepted a €20m offer plus a further €2.5m in bonuses. If the deal goes through, De Tomas will arrive as Espanyol's richest transfer.

Sitting bottom of the table, Espanyol have managed just 14 goals this season.

Abelardo Fernandez was named new coach of Espanyol over the Christmas recess.
