Espanyol goalkeeper Diego Lopez admits he almost signed for Chelsea last summer.

Lopez is on-loan at Espanyol from AC Milan.

He said: "There was an opportunity last summer.

"I was very flattered by the interest of the coach (Antonio Conte). I do not know if it will be maintained this summer.

"Last year for me was a priority option but now things have changed, and I do not know what will happen now, but it is a great one in Europe, possibly winning the Premier League."

He added: "My speech has not changed at all and my intention is to continue with Espanyol. I hope we can do it."
