Mainz have clinched agreement with Espanyol for fullback Aaron Martin.

The Spain U21 international, who has been linked with Real Madrid and Barcelona, has seen a €10m offer from Mainz accepted by Espanyol.

Marca says Espanyol have released Aaron from their preseason camp in England to travel to Germany for Mainz talks.

Aaron's buyout clause had been set at €40m and Espanyol's decision to sell is a surprise.

Didac Vila, meanwhile, will now step up to fill the void as Aaron finalises his move to the Bundesliga.
