Former Chelsea boss Avram Grant faces competition from ex-Manchester City manager Sven Goran Eriksson for the Czech Republic job.
Grant, sacked by Chelsea at the end of last season, has been approached by the Czech FA and reportedly offered a four-year deal worth £900,000 annually.
The salary would be a fraction of what he received at Stamford Bridge, but he is close to finalising a significant pay-off with his former employer.
Eriksson - recently sacked by Mexico - has also been linked with the post, but he would command a higher salary than that tabled to Grant.
