Erik Stoffelshaus is being linked with Manchester United.
The Sun says Stoffelshaus is one of the leading candidates for the job, along with with RB Leipzig's Paul Mitchell and Juventus chief Fabio Paratici.
After two years at Lokomotiv Moscow, where he masterminded their first Russian title for 14 years, the 48-year-old German is ready to crack the Premier League.
He said: “For my name to be mentioned in relation to working at a club like Manchester United is very flattering.
“And to work here (in England) would be an absolute honour to help get a club to the next level would be great.
“I bring all the facets a club needs to run a sporting department in terms of my education and experience.
“Four teams in the last eight of the Champions League tells you how strong the Premier League is."
