Eric Dier is delighted to have signed a new deal with Tottenham to 2024.

Dier joined Spurs from Sporting Lisbon in 2014 and has since played 239 games for the club, proving to be a versatile member of the team with the ability to play in defence or midfield.

"I'm really happy to continue here and commit to this new journey we're on," he said.

"It's crazy to think I've been here for six years now. I've enjoyed it a lot and it's been fantastic to work under the manager I was working under and the one I'm now working under. I'm very lucky and privileged to be at this club with this set up, with the players here it's a fantastic place to be.

"The club gave me my opportunity with England, it's given me so much since then. We've had some great times together and I want to have even better times and I still feel like there's still a lot of things I need to achieve here."

Dier said he remains ambitious and while he has helped Spurs battle for the title in recent seasons, he is desperate to go the extra mile and lift some silverware under Mourinho - adding that it felt like the start of a new journey.

"I feel like that 20-year-old when I first arrived, that's the feeling I have right now, I feel like I'm at the beginning of a new journey," he added.

"My targets are very clear for me - I want to be one of the best in my position in the Premier League and that's one of the reasons why I wanted to stay here and commit my future. I want to prove myself in this position and Tottenham is the best place to do that.

"My clear objective, and the manager's clear objective, is to try and win trophies for the club. The manager's record and mentality towards trophies - that was a huge thing for me. When the day does come to leave this club, I want to leave knowing I've done that."
