Eric Bailly: I want to repay Man Utd faith in me

Eric Bailly appreciates the support of Manchester United during his extensive injury problems.

The Ivory Coast centre back has made just one appearance this season in the Premier League for the Red Devils after sustaining a serious knee injury back in pre-season.

However, during that time United have taken up an option to extend his contract which will now see him through to the summer of 2022.

On signing fresh terms, Bailly told United's official website: "For me it was very important.

"At a time when I was suffering a little bit and struggling with my injury, the club showed great confidence, enough to extend my contract, and it gives me a real feeling of prestige to be able to continue being part of this squad and this club.

"The feeling then is that I want to pay back that faith and confidence they've shown in me and being part of something here."
