England U21 coach Aidy Boothroyd has thrown his support behind Aaron Ramsdale following his 'tough' start to life at Sheffield United.

Ramsdale has endured some errors so far this season.

Boothroyd said: "Joe (Bursik) is going to start the game (against Albania) but I spoke to Aaron at length and let me be clear he is on our number one, on and off the pitch.

"He is a brilliant guy to have around.

"He has had a bit of a tough time at the minute, but I'm sure him and his club will turn the corner."
