England's U20 team could be cut by the FA due to cost-cutting measures set to be implemented.
The Daily Mail says streamlining the 250-plus coaching and technical staff at St George's Park will be the focus of the next round of cuts at the FA, who need to make savings as they are projecting losses of up to £150million in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
The Under 20s failed to qualify for last year's World Cup and it is uncertain whether the 2021 competition will take place as the Under 19s European Championship, which is the route for qualification, has been postponed.
It has emerged that the age-group team, coached by the highly-regarded Paul Simpson, is one of a number vulnerable to cuts as they do not play regular competitive matches and frequently lose players to the Under 21s or Gareth Southgate's senior team.
