England under-20s boss Ian Foster has heaped praise on youngster Luke Mbete.
The Manchester City starlet, who has been on loan at Huddersfield and Bolton Wanderers this season, has impressed in the EFL.
He is also a key member of the under-20s squad, with Foster believing the centre back can go all the way to the top.
"It's impressive when he goes to Huddersfield," the 46-year-old coach said to Manchester Evening News.
"I know you say it's a 'bad loan' but if you speak to Luke and we do regularly when they're out at these clubs, the experience he'd have got in those teams when managers are struggling, when fans are on the players' backs, when there might be a divide in the dressing room. It will help him so much.
"It's the development period for these players and they get valuable experience. Players have to adapt to that and with Luke at Huddersfield, he would have learned so much from that. It might not have been the greatest time for him when he's not playing but he would have learned so much, trust me."
