England scouting Burnley striker Danny Ings

Burnley striker Danny Ings is being watched by England coach Roy Hodgson.

The Daily Mail says Hodgson has already pencilled in Ings as a surprise contender for a place in his Euro 2016 qualifying squad.

Ings scored his 25th goal of the season as Burnley beat neighbours Blackburn in the Championship on Sunday and remained on course promotion to the Barclays Premier League.

Hodgson and his staff at the FA are keen to bring a fresh approach to qualifying for the 2016 European Championships In France and have been increasingly impressed by Ings as they have begun to scout him this season.
