A report in the Daily Mail suggests that the Reds have seen off competition from Stoke City to sign the 15-year-old 6ft5in central defender.
Liverpool have agreed a six figure compensation fee with League One club Bury for Obi who has already played in the Checkatrade Trophy.

Bury boss David Flitcroft has previously said of the Nigerian-born starlet that he is the 'best talent at 15 years old in the entire country'.
