England physio criticises Arsenal for Holding load management

A prominent physio has criticised Arsenal for their handling of Rob Holding after it was confirmed that the defender would miss nine months of the season with an ACL injury.

Holding suffered the injury in Wednesday night's draw with Manchester United. And ead physio for the England futsal team, Charlie Goodchild, was keeping track of the story.

Goodchild sent an initial tweet that read: "I hope Rob Holding's injury is nothing too serious. Three games in six days was always going to be a risk."

And once Holding's injury was confirmed, Goodchild added: "ACL rupture... season finished. This risk was definitely not worth it. Serious lesson to be learnt here on load managing players."

Holding was enjoying a breakthrough season after struggling for game time under former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.
