Ryan Bertrand has returned to Southampton for treatment on a knock he sustained last weekend.
The left-back was elected by Roy Hodgson for friendlies with Germany and Holland but has been withdrawn from Saturday night's Berlin meeting with the reigning World Cup champions.
Bertrand is back on the south coast in a bid to get over the injury so he can be available for Tuesday's meeting with the Dutch at Wembley.
Hodgson has not called in a replacement for the seven-time international who will be deputised by Tottenham Hotspur's Danny Rose who is set to make his Three Lions debut against Germany.
