England manager Gareth Southgate will refuse to be forced into selecting Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The 20-year-old is one of the brightest attacking prospects in the country, but his stock has fallen somewhat over the past 12 to 24 months.

Hudson-Odoi is not on Three Lions boss Southgate's radar at present, as he was not in the England senior or Under-21 squads for this international break.

He is also eligible to play for Ghana through his parentage, with their FA pushing for him to commit to the African nation.

The Mirror suggests that even if Hudson-Odoi threatens to commit to Ghana and make himself unavailable for England selection for the rest of his career, Southgate will not be pressed into selecting him for any reason other than merit.
