Sevilla won the El Gran Derbi 1-0 on Sunday against Real Betis at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

After hitting two goals against Borussia Dortmund in midweek, Youssef En-Nesyri continued his good form against Sevilla's city rivals.

In the 27th minute, the Moroccan international raced on to Jesus Navas' pass, rounded Joel Robles and opened the scoring from a tight angle.

Betis piled on the pressure on in the closing stages of the contest, almost stumbling across an equaliser when Karim Rekik's clearance rebounded off a floored Borja Iglesias and headed towards goal. Fortunately for the hosts, Diego Carlos was there to clear off the line.

Nabil Fekir went close with a shot from the edge of the penalty area with the last kick of the game, with the final whistle a source of relief for Julen Lopetegui's team.

Sevilla strengthen their position in the race for Champions League places with the win, six points clear of fifth-place Real Sociedad. Betis remain sixth.
