Emre Can has hinted Steven Gerrard is on his way back to Liverpool.

Gerrard is currently in his second MLS season with LA Galaxy.

The Daily Star says the Kop legend, 36, has spent time with his old team-mates on their pre-season tour of America.

Hardly surprising, though, given he spent 17 years at the club.

But it's a cryptic Instagram post from Emre Can that will leave Liverpool fans wondering.

Can posted a picture of Gerrard and his pals and wrote: “Great to see the Captain. Soon. Back. #ynwa #liverpool #EC23 #SG8."

The “soon" and “back" appeared on emojis included in the post.

Gerrard posted the same picture on his Instagram and wrote: “Great to catch up with @ec2323 and his boys #LA us."
