Empoli midfielder Mirko Valdifiori has made it clear he wants to move to Napoli.
Valdifiori hopes to follow former Empoli coach Maurizio Sarri to Naples.
“After two years in Serie B we stepped up into Serie A and proved our quality," Valdifiori told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.
“I am happy with how things went and will remember this year for a lifetime, especially the icing on the cake of my Italy debut.
“On Monday there should be a meeting between the Presidents of Empoli and Napoli. I am waiting for this moment, because the clubs need to find an agreement first and only afterwards will I be called to discuss terms.
“Being linked with Napoli is an honour. I am proud of what I've done so far and we'll see what the future holds. I hope for this step up in my career."
