Empoli midfielder Mirko Valdifiori says he was given a gift by Juventus veteran Andrea Pirlo after the weekend's game.

Empoli lost at Juve 2-0 on Saturday.

"Finding you in the tunnel waiting for me to hand over your shirt gave me immense joy," wrote Valdifiori to Pirlo on Facebook.

"You proved for the umpteenth time that as well as being a champion, you are above all a great man off the field. Thank you Andrea Pirlo."
