Emile Heskey has revealed he was blocked from joining Leicester City a second time.

Heskey has revealed that Alex McLeish denied him the chance to leave Aston Villa for Leicester City.

He told LeicesterLive: “McLeish said I couldn't go.

“He said I couldn't leave, that they needed me, and then barely played me again.

“I wanted to know where I stood and if I wasn't in anyone's plans, I would have been going home to Leicester. But to tell me they needed me but then not to play me again, more or less, I didn't see the logic behind it.

“It would have been good to come back, it would have been nice."
