Emery takes aim at ref over PSG's infamous Barcelona collapse

Former PSG coach Unai Emery has revisited their infamous 2017 Champions League collapse to Barcelona.

Emery believes that the French side would have progressed had VAR been in use, whilst also adding that he and his players had a battle against the referee as well as against the Catalans.

"We had two games in the 6-1 against Barcelona," Emery told Marcador.

"One against Barcelona and the other against [Deniz] Aytekin.

"With VAR we definitely would have come through that tie."

When asked about the best player he worked with, Emery listed a number and stressed that he's had the pleasure of coaching so many elite players.

"From [Alvaro] Negredo with Almeria to [David] Villa at Valencia and [Ivan] Rakitic at Sevilla," he said.

"Then I went to PSG and I had a player like [Kylian] Mbappe and, above all, Neymar."
