Emery approves Arsenal move for West Ham, Newcastle target Almiron

Arsenal are finalising the signing of Atlanta United midfielder Miguel Almiron.

Arsenal boss Unai Emery has agreed a deal worth £11million to snap up the Paraguay international as he bids to bolster his squad.

West Ham and Newcastle are said to have been interested too.

But Arsenal lead the chase and are expected to confirm his arrival in the New Year, according to Fox Deportes USA.

And Atlanta president Darren Eales - formerly of Tottenham Hotspur - has confirmed Almiron will leave the American side.

"My objective has always been to go to Europe," he said. "I like the Premier League and I think they play a beautiful and competitive style of soccer."
