Newcastle United keeper Rob Elliot insists the number one shirt at St James' Park is still up for grabs despite his man-of-the-match performance in Saturday's win over Bournemouth.

First-choice Tim Krul is out for the season, but Elliot still faces competition from Karl Darlow and Freddie Woodman.

"We're in a strong position, it's open season," he told BBC Newcastle.
