Swedish club Elfsborg have made it clear that they intend to play Mohamed Bangura in the next round of Champions League qualifying.
The Hoops need to navigate their way past Cliftonville at Parkhead on Tuesday night following last week's 3-0 win in Northern Ireland if they are to meet Elfsborg in the third qualifying round with the Swedes well ahead of Latvia side Daugava Daugavpils who they beat 7-1 last week.
Sierra Leone striker Bangura is on a 12-month loan at Elfsborg from Celtic but the Scottish champions stated that he will not play against them in the next round. Elfsborg, however, have different ideas.
"Celtic loaned him out because they do not believe that Mohamed is a good enough player," said chairman Bo Johansson.
"He is looking forward to playing and there will be some lust for revenge. This gives us extra lighter fluid - we will use this to motivate us.
"He is our player and will play. Lennon's statement was very unfortunate. I don't understand what he is thinking. It's off the wall for Celtic to put pressure on a player that is not theirs."
