Las Palmas face competition in the race for Manchester City striker Lorenzo Gonzalez.
Las Palmas are in talks for the young Swiss, but now are being rivalled by Elche.
Gonzalez, after three years with City, wants to cut ties and favours pursuing his career in Spain. Indeed, he has spoken openly about playing for Las Palmas.
"In football you never know, but it is clear that I would like to wear the UD shirt one day. I want to play at the highest level and Las Palmas would be a great option. It would be a dream to play for the team of my land," said Gonzalez, whose mother's side of the family are from the island.
For their part, City are willing to release Gonzalez in exchange for 50 per cent of any sell on fee.
