Portsmouth have some way to go before closing a deal for El Zamalek striker Amr Zaki.
The News says Zaki remains firmly in Pompey's sights, but there is still some distance to travel before any move for the former Wigan man is sealed.
Pompey have offered to pay £500,000 to bring Zaki to the club on a temporary basis, with his club, El Zamalek, now asking for £2m.
But Zamalek would be prepared to drop to £1.5m for the 26-year-old.
New Blues chairman Sulaiman Al Fahim is in England to meet Peter Storrie and discuss the next stage of the squad's restructuring.
