Barcelona midfielder Javier Mascherano incurred the wrath of teammate Jeremy Mathieu during victory over Real Madrid last night.

Mascherano was at the centre of a second-half flashpoint, when he chopped down Cristiano Ronaldo with a challenge that was almost waist high. He then reacted comically to contact with a grounded Ronaldo, hitting the turf himself.

Both Ronaldo and Real teammate Dani Carvajal had words with a wailing Mascherano as he held his face (for some mysterious reason).

The antics even angered teammate Mathieu, who had headed Barca into the lead in the first-half. The Frenchman was seen admonishing the Argentine before play continued.
