Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Bobic: Rebic ideal for AC Milan

Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Fredi Bobic is backing Ante Rebic for success with AC Milan.

Rebic left Eintracht Frankfurt in a swap for Andre Silva.

“(Milan director Zvonimir) Boban knew I'd been interested in Andre Silva for about a month, but the actual negotiations began just three days before the market closed," he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“It's always useful to know each other and maintain relationships, I'd say yes, that facilitated negotiations.

“It's never easy to find a solution when time is against you, but luckily Boban and Maldini are both excellent professionals.

“Together we found the best agreement, in the interests of both clubs. Rebic will be an important player, I'm more than sure about that.

“He was a leading light for us during a couple of incredible seasons. I wish him well, but I know he'll do well for them.

“The best position for him is left winger, but he can also play very well as a second striker.

“Ante is very strong physically and, for that reason alone, a Coach hardly gives up on him.

“He has technical quality, he's equally adept with both feet and his pace makes him unstoppable."
