Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has had a school in his native Egypt named after him after his heroics helped the country seal a place in the 2018 World Cup this weekend.
He netted a brace for his country this weekend against Congo during a 2-1 victory and the win ensured that Egypt qualified for the World Cup for the first time in 27 years.
Egypt took the lead following a strike from Salah, however Congo managed to find themselves an equaliser in the 87th minute through Arnold Bouka Moutou. Salah then successfully slotted in a penalty in the 95th minute to ensure that his side won the game.
Following his exploits, Salah's former school in Bassyoung has renamed itself in his honor.Speaking after the historic win, he said, "I can't really express how I feel. I don't quite talk so much but I'm really proud. Today we realised a long-awaited dream."
