Edu confirms Arsenal will attempt to 'do something' in January transfer window

Arsenal director Edu has confirmed the club will 'try to do something' in the January transfer window.

The Gunners slipped to 15th on the table after Sunday's loss to Burnley.

But the Brazilian insists transfers are not always the solution to problems.

Asked about his January plans by the Daily Mail, Edu replied: "That's a good question, thank you very much. I will say why. Why we don't talk about something externally. We are here to solve the problem. We have the team, we have the squad, we have the manager, we have the staff, everyone in the right place to change it.

"Why people have to expect a magician to go "boom! Come here, Messi!' No. It depends on us. No, we have to take this responsibility, it's not about me, not about Mikel, it's our responsibility to change it.

"People might start to ask: 'what are you going to do in the winter window?'. Of course we will try to do something but, listen, we have the responsibility to change it. Don't wait for someone outside to come inside and be a magician because that's not going to happen."
