Edinson Cavani signs new contract with Man Utd

Edinson Cavani has penned a new one-year deal with Manchester United.

Cavani, 34, has signed until the summer of 2022 after turning down an enticing offer from Boca Juniors in order to spend one more season in elite European football.

It is expected that United will confirm the news imminently, ahead of their match with Leicester City on Tuesday evening.

The news arrives off the back of a dazzling run for Cavani, who recently hit a brace in Rome to book United's place in the Europa League final, before coming off the bench to score against Aston Villa on Sunday.

The Uruguayan has now displaced Marcus Rashford as United's first choice forward.
