Ebiowei rejected calls from Man Utd pair Ten Hag and McClaren to commit to Crystal Palace

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag failed with a personal attempt to convince Malcolm Ebiowei about a move to Old Trafford.

The 18-year-old Derby County winger has agreed a deal with Patrick Vieira's Crystal Palace, who are expected to officially announce the deal shortly, beating off interest from United, Tottenham and French side Monaco.

The Sun says Ebiowei ignored a text from new Red Devils boss ten Hag and several calls from assistant Steve McClaren before putting pen to paper with the south London side.

United contacted Ebiowei on numerous occasions to discuss a move, with former Rams technical director McClaren calling him numerous times and ten Hag, appointed this summer, sending a text - both of which were ignored.

But the former Arsenal and Rangers academy star is said have been persuaded by Palace sporting director Dougie Freedman's 'personal crusade' to sign him.
