Sean Dyche says Anders Lindegaard's motivation is to become a regular starter for Burnley following the injury sustained to number 1 custodian Tom Heaton.
The 33-year-old Denmark international had been training with Burnley, and Dyche explained: "With Tom getting injured, we started looking around.
"We knew of Anders, we knew he'd turned down a couple of things [and] we knew he had a good history.
"He is coming out of a little quiet spell but he's very motivated. I spoke with him as did [goalkeeping coach] Billy Mercer of course, and he seems very motivated to come in and really fight and get fit and sharp, which he has shown even over a number days.
"He spoke to us about his hunger and his desire to work hard, not just to be here for the sake of it, but to actually work hard to try and progress and try and put pressure on the No.1 situation.
"We welcome him to the club."
