Burnley manager Sean Dyche admits his squad is stretched just days before the transfer window closes.
The Clarets put out a strong starting line-up against Manchester City in the EFL Cup on Wednesday, but they were still humbled 3-0 at Turf Moor.
Dyche said: "We thought we would have to put a strong side out, we're stretched and we're trying to rest people but we can't really because we've got to keep going.
"Manchester City are a good outfit, I know they've got a few injuries themselves but they still put out some very good players out there and they delivered a performance to win the game."
