Dutch scout Kenneth Zandvliet lands top Chelsea job after leaving Twente

Dutch scout Kenneth Zandvliet is leaving FC Twente for Chelsea.

Zandvliet, who was the head of youth scouting at Twente, will cover young players for Chelsea in Holland and Belgium. He begins work next month.

He told Voetbalzone, "I came into contact with Chelsea through my agent. Then the ball started to roll: having conversations, making analysis, talking to people and persuading them. It is a huge step.

"From Go Ahead to Twente was a step. But from Twente to Chelsea and the requirements that this function entails is a much larger step. The way in which Chelsea organised the scouting is of course a lot more professional than with FC Twente. That makes sense, because you can not compare those clubs at all.

"This job at Chelsea is a confirmation that you have done things right. There are more clubs that approached me and also came up with more attractive conditions."
