Dutch pundit surprised Man Utd midfielder Van de Beek split from agent Albers

Dutch pundit Mike Verweij is surprised by Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek's decision to change agents.

The Dutchman has left Guido Albers to join the stable of Ali Dursun, who takes care of Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong - a former Ajax teammate of Van de Beek's.

Verweij told De Telegraaf: "I was very convinced that he would remain faithful to Sjaak until the death of Sjaak Swart in hopefully 2052.

"Sjaak Swart works together with Guido Albers and Sjaak is also the reason why Donny ended up with Guido.

"I think Guido Albers has always been very good to him and negotiated a wonderful transfer to Manchester United. It turned out dramatically, despite many great promises from (Ole Gunner) Solskjaer."

He added, "Ali forced the biggest transfer ever for a Dutch player, when he brought Frenkie to Barcelona for 86 million euros. So I think Donny now also hopes that he gets a very nice new club."

Verweij revealed Mino Raiola also made an attempt to sign Van de Beek before the player's commitment to Dursun.
