Dutch hero Wim Kieft can understand Liverpool midfielder Gini Wijnaldum not jumping into new contract talks.
Wijnaldum is inside the final 18 months of his current deal and negotiations have been dragging on.
Kieft said: "He is of course an ideal player for Jürgen Klopp.
"What I like about Wijnaldum: in the Netherlands he was very messy very often. He was an attacking midfielder, right winger, striker ... If you see how modest he now plays in possession of the ball and goes forwards and backwards...
"If you are that good and so important and you know that your contract will expire in a year and a half, then you can also demand something.
"It is probably the last contract he will sign."
