Dutch great Wim Kieft has warned Tottenham fans not to get carried away with new signing Steven Bergwijn.
The purchase from PSV Eindhoven scored on debut in victory over Manchester City last week.
But Kieft argued in De Telegraaf: “Bergwijn is just 22 years old, makes a financial blow, but ends up sporting and privately in a completely different world. That requires an adjustment period with trial and error.
"Isn't it strange that Matthijs de Ligt has adjustment problems or that Frenkie de Jong - although he plays everything - does not appear as dominant as with Ajax?
"Bergwijn is also affected by this and he is not (yet) De Ligt or De Jong. A talent with great potential, but at the same time someone who has shown it too little at PSV."
