The former Manchester City winger was outstanding in United's CIS Cup victory over Ross County and Levein said: "The most pleasing thing other than the result was the performance of Willo Flood.

"I've said all along he has been slow to get up to speed with the rest of the players due to various different things, from injuries to other bits and pieces.

"But here he has shown that on the ball he is a really good, creative player and I was pleased for him. That was his best performance for us so far and he can only get better. In fact, he was our best player.

"It is also great our supporters can see him play like that."
