Dundee's Baird hopes SFA don't throw book at Celtic's Wilson

Dundee forward John Baird is of the belief that the Scottish Football Association should not punish Kelvin Wilson for his 'accidental' elbow on Wednesday.

The Hoops centre-back caught Baird in the 2-0 win to the league leaders at Dens Park on Boxing Day but the recipient of the errant arm suggests it was not a malicious act.

"The SFA shouldn't look at it. It's not going to change anything. It would be poor if they did," said Baird.

"I went to pull Kelvin to get an extra yard on him. He did catch me but I think it was accidental.

"I was annoyed because I thought I'd lost my teeth.

"He caught me with an elbow but I'd pulled him first. We spoke at half-time and said that too."
