Champions League winner Didier Drogba has backed Sadio Mane to win the Ballon D'Or this season.
Mane was included in the 30-man shortlist earlier this week along with six of his Liverpool teammates.
George Weah is the only African to have previously won the award, but Drogba is backing Mane to add his name to that list.
"For the CAN, the Champions League, and the championship," the former Chelsea striker said when asked why the 27-year-old was favourite.
"What he does in the Premier League, very few players are able to do it."
Asked if he felt Mane could succeed Weah, Drogba added: "Yes it is possible, but it would have been possible well before."
