Danny Drinkwater managed his first game for the Burnley under-23 side.

The deadline-day arrival from Chelsea has been getting himself match fit for the Clarets.

The 29-year-old played in a 1-1 draw against Coventry yesterday.

While he will need more games before he is ready for the Premier League, it is a step in the right direction for Drinkwater.

He lasted the first 45 minutes and was only taken off for fitness reasons.

Meanwhile, Bailey Peacock-Farrell played the full game in his own recovery from injury.
