Dutch pundit Valentijn Driessen says Ajax coach Erik ten Hag fluffed his interview with Tottenham.
Spurs named Nuno as their new manager yesterday, but not before chairman Daniel Levy held talks with Ten Hag.
Driessen told De Telegraaf: "What they found very strange at Spurs - and we think it is very normal in the Netherlands - is that if you get a trainer you only get one trainer, but with the English you get a whole staff: a physiotherapist, doctor, assistant trainer, goalkeeper coach. You just enter there with a whole group.
"So they had also asked him: who are you taking with you? Yes, nobody. They don't do that there. He wanted Sjors Ultee, that name had also been mentioned. But you normally go there with a whole group."
Ten Hag worked at FC Utrecht together with Ultee, who was assistant coach in the 2015/16 season. A switch to London was not an option for the current coach of Fortuna Sittard.
“I'm not saying they didn't want him, but he didn't make a very strong impression. His English wasn't quite right either...".
