Kevin Doyle says that Wolves deserved to stay up last season.
The Molineux outfit managed to stave off relegation by one point despite losing the final game of the season to Blackburn Rovers and Doyle insists that it was a warranted outcome in a tough season.
"We stayed up, it may have been by the tightest of margins, but we stayed up," Doyle told the club's official website.
"And that means we deserved it over the course of the season.
"I do believe we deserved it because some of our performances, especially against the bigger teams, were fantastic.
"We got more points than last season and it most years that would have been enough with a couple of games to spare.
"So that was an improvement - the only problem was that everyone else was a lot better as well!
"It was a tough season and we did let ourselves down in a couple of games but I think we made up for it in others."
