Doucoure: Digne helped convince me about Everton

Abdoulaye Doucoure is delighted with his decision to move to Everton.

The midfielder made a summer switch to Merseyside from Watford, becoming the third in a trio of top signings in quick succession following the arrivals of Allan and James Rodriguez.

He told the club's official programme: "I'm very happy to be here, I'm very comfortable to be here with my family.

"I spoke with Lucas Digne before I came and he said, 'This is a great club and you will settle in very quickly'.

"He was right, Everton is a family club.

"And on the pitch, from a personal point of view, I am happy with my performances. It has been a good first four months of my career at Everton.

"It's great to be part of this team and I'm sure we can keep improving."

Doucoure also paid tribute to captain Seamus Coleman.

"Seamus is a great captain. I think he is the best captain I have met so far in my career. He looks after every player.

"I have had a lot of praise from them on social media, so I am very happy with that.

"The fans here are a very, very important part of the club. Of course, we miss them in the stadium. It will be amazing to play in front of a packed Goodison Park when that day comes.

"I have played in front of a full crows at Goodison when I was at Watford and I know the atmosphere is incredible."
